The Boy Who Tamed The Beast

Full name: Daedalus Amadeus Kleist

Age: 17

Gender: Male

Species: Human/Enhanced

Hair: Ebony

Eyes: Brown

Ethnicity: German

Abilities: Light telepathy, technokinesis, genius-level intellect, enhanced reflexes

Occupation: Geneticist, sociologist, surgeon, researcher

Current project: Classified
Philosophy: "Everyone is motivated by something. Driven by an idea, a concept. A calling, if you will.
But sometimes it can be difficult to know exactly what motivates you.
But we all find out sooner or later, and when we do... we must work hard for it."

"I've found my calling..."

Daedalus Kleist was the son of Ernest Kleist, the famous mad scientist behind the 'Rogue' King Alien.
But unlike his father, Daedalus is not interested in breeding human/xenomorph hybrids.
Daedelus uses his fathers research to harness the Queen's grip on the hive mind, to create an artificial hive central.
This to aid the human expansion throughout the galaxy.
He is one of the youngest scientists working for Weyland-Yutani corporation to have full independence and near unlimited resources.
At age 14, he had already discovered a means to replicate the signals the Queens uses to control the hive.
Three years later he was a head scientist with a secret facility of his own.
One of a dozen researchers, working on xenomorphic projects.

When Daedalus was searching the outer rims of the known galaxy,
he came across a derelict space station previously belonging to Seegson.
It was old and full of deactivated androids. The station resembled Sevastopol Station in many aspects but,
unlike Sevastopol, it wasn't for commercial use - but for research purposes.
Recordings were also found playing with distorted English. And they spoke as follows:

" September 21st, 2146. The specimen was brought aboard after we salvaged debris floating through space.
Debris was of GeoFund origin, labelled Sevastopol. Specimen of unknown origin.
It has infected the station. Most of the human crew are dead. The rest of us are using the salvage ship to evacuate.
Seegson androids have been deactivated. There is no hope left for the station.
My name is Tobias Welsh, chief technician of At-..."

After that, nothing more.
All files had been deleted from the central computer and all life forms seemed to have disappeared.
Kleist, being extra cautious, demanded a reboot of the system and a quick reprogramming of the androids' central computer center.
And with the help of nearly a thousand androids, Kleist and the other scientists managed to suppress the Xenomorph threat onboard
and lock them into the west tower. The Derelict space station was quickly remodeled and refueled
to fit the purpose Daedalus and the company had intended for it.
Since then, the station has become the central research facility for all Weyland-Yutani research.
All signs of extra terrestrial life is reported, and brought to the station that was named: Athena.

Daedalus never really knew his father. He knew who he was and what he did. But the two had very little contact. Daedalus grew up alongside scientists on a very different Weyland-Yutani facility. He learned everything about how a science facility works there. When he was 11, he used to help the other scientists with daily tasks. Often simple things like bringing coffee, but sometimes more dangerous things like bringing equipment or dangerous substances. He was very careful and observant in everything he did. For he had hoped to one day study alongside his father. But at the age of 13 he discovered that his father had died in an accident, the Charon Base within which Ernst Kleist had been working had exploded, and his father was presumed dead. No body was able to be salvaged. Two months later, he managed to get hold of classified files that proved exactly how his father had presumably died. And this is where the idea to replicate a hive mind was born.

ICARUS-4

The Icarus project is a side project withing project Chimaera.
It is Daedalus' personal project in his attempts to create the perfect weapon.
A controllable Xenomorph.
Using his father's research, he's been able to develop a number of techniques.
The basic one is simple mind control using devices that shuts off certain signals in the Xenomorph brain.
Project Icarus is different.
The goal with Icarus is to create a loyal hive.

Icarus-4 is the name of one very special xenomorph. Using his knowledge of biology and psychology, etc, Daedalus managed to create the perfect soldier. Icarus-4. A xenomorph as loyal as a well-raised cat. It does not kill Daedalus, for it believes he's part of its hive. It doesn't take commands very well, but it can sense what angers the young scientist, and it will react accordingly after that. It is capable of learning patterns, not just physical patterns, but emotional. It knows what not to do in certain situations. Although its instincts tell it to kill everyone that isn't Daedalus, its 'consciousness' knows better. It has learned that Daedalus gets frustrated with it when it kills unprovoked. Although... One would do well not to annoy Daedalus when the xenomorph is in the room.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Daedalus is and interdimensional character. Meaning he can be fit into most situations and roleplay styles..

.
Athena, the space station on which Daedalus lives is an old GeoFund research facility, very similar to the design of the Nostromo and Sevastopol Station

.

Daedalus' powers are based on and around technopathy, which is the ability to use and manipulate technology, and often electricity, telepathically.

What is a Xenomorph?
The Internecivus raptus, or simply Xenomorph is an alien biomechanical, hosile, organism that appears in the famous ALIEN franchise that debuted 1979. It's a species of biologically engineered weapon that live only to kill. It comes in many differenet shapes and sizes and procreate through parasitism.
The whole cycle starts with a queen. The precise origin of the queens is unknown. But there are theories involving beings nicknamed 'Queen Mothers'. The queen is, like with ants, much larger than the rest of the hive members. Her physique is different too. Instead of the elongated dome, her head carries a large - bony- crest that almost looks like a form of crown. Her limbs are longer and on her chest sits an extra pair of small arms. Her teeth are different as well, as they are translucent instead of chrome in color. Instead of four tubes protruding from her back, six large spikes sit in their place. And the most important feature is the large, removable, egg sack that sits attached right under the base of her tail.

The queen can lay countless eggs in very short time. These eggs are large and slimy, with a warm grey color scheme. When an organism gets close to the egg, it 'hatches' by opening like a flower. From the egg then springs the first step to a new xenomorph - a Facehugger. They are pale spider-like creatures that move with incredible agility.

The Facehuggers latches on to someone's, or something's, face with its eight long finger-like legs and strong elastic tail and plants an embryo inside them. During this process, the victim is put in a comatose-like state and kept alive by the Facehugger's own breathing system.

The embryo grows inside the unknowing host into a larvae. When the larvae is finished growing inside its host, it leaves it in the for of a chest burster. The Chestburster bursts out of the host, often the chest, killing it in the process.

The Chestburster will then hide and grow. They grow extremely fast in a matter of hours, they are nearly fullgrown xenomorphs.

The adult Xenomorphs are the most dangerous ones. They can lie dormant for years without weakening. But when they are active, they will stop at nothing until all life around it is wiped out and remade as part of its colony. And in the absence of a queen, the most fit xenomorph -often the oldest- will undergo a transformation to become a new queen so that the hive may continue to grow.
